Kelly understands that it will take bold action to put America on a path to fiscal sustainability. For the sake of future generations, she believes we owe our country nothing less.
Even before taking office, Kelly made good on her promise to ban "earmarks," and she continues to work on putting in place a permanent moratorium on these pork-barrel projects.
She also firmly believes that the federal government should balance its budget like families in New Hampshire and strongly supports approving a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution that can be ratified by the states.
Kelly also recognizes that any responsible approach to our fiscal crisis must include a serious discussion about repairing America's entitlement programs - which account for about 60% of federal spending.
Mindful that it will take strong leadership to put our fiscal house in order, Kelly is ready to work with her colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address the dire fiscal situation our country faces.
