Tom Lackey spent his career protecting people on our streets and highways. That experience has given him the understanding that criminals are the only ones not obeying gun laws. That is why law-abiding citizens should be able to be issued conceal-carry permits and gun rights should not limited any more than they already are.
One of Assemblyman Steve Fox's first votes was Aye on AB 711 -- a bill to ban lead ammunition. This bill was a joint effort by environmental extremists and anti-gun zealots. Alternatives to lead ammunition are much more expensive and the idea was to make exercising Second Amendment rights more expensive, effectively taxing people out of their constitutional rights. Steve Fox voted for the bill once, then when he had a second chance to vote on it, he chickened out and abstained.
Tom Lackey is a staunch Second Amendment rights supporter and would have voted against this bill both times. He is the true protector of the individual's constitutional right to bear arms.
