Governor Hassan's Statement on Senate Bill 30

Governor Maggie Hassan today issued the following statement on Senate Bill 30, permitting counties with unincorporated areas to establish tax increment financing districts:

"By giving our unincorporated areas the ability to access the same economic development tools as the rest of the state, Senate Bill 30 will help us attract new businesses to New Hampshire, create jobs and expand middle class opportunity. It is also an important step forward for advancing the Balsams redevelopment project, which is a bold vision for the revitalization of this historic resort and has great potential to create jobs and boost the North Country's economy. I applaud legislators from both chambers for their bipartisan support of this important legislation, and I urge the Senate to concur with the House changes as expeditiously as possible to send this bill to my desk."
