Issue Position: Infrastructure Development

Issue Position

For any area, a strong infrastructure is key to attracting industry and growing the local economy. From the Port of Georgetown to our local highways, Russell understands that bringing our roads, bridges, tunnels, and ports to a competitive level with neighboring states presents a monumental challenge in South Carolina but also a great opportunity.

Russell sees infrastructure as a core function of government and one that needs to be placed higher on the priority list. Under Russell's plan, wasteful spending will be eliminated and redirected to infrastructure needs and local governments will gain greater control of existing highways giving them the ability to prioritize road funding.

He also believes that there is huge opportunity to work more effectively with local and national officials, which makes government more accountable and efficient with your tax dollars. Russell understands that with sound infrastructure in South Carolina, the economic climate will improve dramatically for all South Carolinians.
