Today, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02) released the following statement regarding Loretta Lynch's confirmation as Attorney General of the United States:

"I am pleased that Loretta Lynch has been confirmed as this country's next Attorney General. Today, after months of political grandstanding, the United States Senate confirmed her as the first African-American female to serve our nation as Attorney General. Lynch's qualifications and dedication to public service speak for themselves and I look forward to working with Attorney General Lynch during her tenure in office," said Congressman Thompson.
