Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement today after a fire engulfed a block of North Minneapolis.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by the fire on North Broadway. We will repair the damage and our neighborhood will continue to grow. I've lived here for 24 years. I raised my four kids, owned a home, started a business, and represented this area in the state legislature -- my roots in the neighborhood run deep. North Minneapolis has transformed from the time I first moved here to what's happening now because we always support our neighbors."
