Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement today after the House of Representatives voted to approve full funding of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for FY 2015.
"Over the last three months, House Republicans threatened the paychecks of the men and women who protect our nation. Even when it became clear they could not end President Obama's bold action to keep families together, Republican leaders continued to threaten the Department of Homeland Security, coming within hours of shutting down the department and laying off thousands of Americans.
"We disagree from time to time, but paying the Americans who work every day to protect our families should never be a partisan issue. I'm glad we passed the full funding bill today. I hope we never argue again about paying in full and on time the people who serve our nation."
