Below is a statement from Rep. Bill Keating on the Administration's announcement of a new Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center. Rep. Keating is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade on the Foreign Affairs Committee. He is also the only Member of the MA Congressional Delegation to serve on the House Homeland Security Committee.
"The creation of a new cyber agency is a strong step toward tackling one of the greatest national security threats currently facing our country," said Rep. Bill Keating. "In Massachusetts, we have the Advanced Cyber Security Center, and having worked with them, I can attest to the importance of a central hub that determines and delivers targeted solutions in a rapidly changing environment. Cyberattacks have only been increasing in volume and sophistication. We need to address them head-on. It is my hope that the proposed Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center will employ innovative tactics while increasing the potential for information sharing across agencies and stakeholders - a priority that I have been fighting for since the Boston Marathon Bombings."
