The Governor of Kentucky takes an oath to support the Constitution of the United States, and that includes defending the Second Amendment. When our Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they did not want to give government too much power over its citizens because they were all too familiar with unchecked power. The right to keep and bear arms is an essential freedom on which our founders built this nation.
Kentucky is rich in wildlife, forests, and waterways for hunting and fishing. I have owned a gun and hunted since I was a kid. As Governor, I will fight against any government attempt to infringe on our Second Amendment liberties and natural right to self defense.
