U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King.
"On Martin Luther King Day we remember so many of the wonderful contributions that Dr. King brought to this country. He was a man of courage but also peace. Dr. King was a powerful voice for so many who were silenced for too long, and he led millions of people in one of the greatest social movements in our history in the fight for civil rights.
We can continue to honor him by fighting for and protecting individual rights of all Americans regardless of race or religion. Today, we are a stronger and better nation because of Martin Luther King."
