Statement from Governor Hassan on December Unemployment Rate

Statement

Date: Jan. 21, 2015
Location: Concord, NH

Governor Maggie Hassan today issued the following statement on the announcement that New Hampshire's unemployment rate dropped in December to 4.0 percent:

"Today's announcement that the unemployment rate dropped to 4.0 percent in December, significantly lower than the national average and the lowest in New England, is another indicator that our economy continues to strengthen. But even though our private sector has recovered all of the jobs lost during the recession and the employment picture continues to brighten, we know there is more work to do to expand middle class opportunity, support job-creating businesses, and keep our economy moving in the right direction."
