Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) today highlighted the open enrollment period for health coverage. Starting tomorrow, Granite Staters seeking to renew coverage, find affordable coverage, or to enroll for the first time will be able to shop among more than 40 plans offered by five insurers.
"Granite Staters now have more options than ever to gain affordable, accessible health coverage. I am pleased that my office was able to secure more competition and choice in New Hampshire for this year's enrollment period," said Shea-Porter.
The Congresswoman encourages constituents who would like to know more to browse healthcare.gov and discuss their options with one of New Hampshire's many in-person assisters.
This year's enrollment period will remain open for four months, until February 15, 2015. For more information, consumers may refer to Covering New Hampshire, the state's official enrollment resource.
BACKGROUND
Congresswoman Shea-Porter worked tirelessly to expand options for her constituents when last year's Marketplace had plans from a single insurer, Anthem, which offered an unacceptably narrow network. Shea-Porter's successful work to increase competition and choice is summarized here.
