As part of her efforts to help New Hampshire workers develop the skills and innovative thinking necessary for success in the 21st century economy, Governor Maggie Hassan announced today that three New Hampshire companies have been awarded job training grants to help them train 43 workers in new skills.
The job training grants total $19,297.50, and the companies contributed the same in matching funds to bring the total amount for training workers to $38,595.
"I am pleased to announce this newest round of important grants to help prepare workers for success in good jobs at New Hampshire's growing businesses," said Governor Hassan. "New Hampshire's Job Training Fund is a critical resource that has helped train thousands of workers in skills essential to good jobs in the 21st century economy. We must maintain our commitment to higher education and job training in order to attract innovative businesses, help existing companies grow, and support the creation of good jobs to expand opportunities for middle class families and keep our economy moving in the right direction."
-Intelitek Inc. of Manchester received a grant of up to $900 for 24 employees to receive training in Microsoft Excel 1 & 2 from Manchester Community College.
-A grant of $3,200 was awarded to Index Packaging Inc. of Milton for eight employees to receive Plant System Layout training from NH Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NHMEP).
-Checkmate Payroll Services Inc. of Concord received a Job Training Fund grant of $15,197.50 for 11 employees to receive management training and payroll processes training from Cultural Chemistry of Manchester and the American Payroll Association.
The Job Training Fund has awarded $7,392,663.64 in grants since October 2007, with employers contributing $10,030,865.61 for a total of $17,423,529.25 in new training for 22,009 New Hampshire workers.
