Today, New York City's former Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, endorsed Seth Moulton, Marine veteran and Democratic nominee for Congress in Massachusetts' 6th Congressional District. According to The New York Times, Bloomberg is pledging $25M to support Moulton and nine other candidates from across the country in both political parties.
Howard Wolfson, political adviser to Bloomberg, told The New York Times today that, "[the former mayor] wants to elect people who are open and actually inclined to work with people across the aisle."
"I am honored to earn the endorsement of Mayor Michael Bloomberg," said Moulton. "Mayor Bloomberg is the type of elected official I hope to be: one who draws on his outside experiences to bring new thinking to public office and reaches across the aisle to make those changes a reality. He is a leader on gun safety, gay rights, the environment, and job creation. His willingness to buck politics as usual to get things done is exactly the kind of leadership I hope to bring to Congress."
