U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement after his votes on the McKeon Amendment and the Continuing Resolution.
"I fully support an increase in air strikes with our coalition allies to dismantle and ultimately destroy ISIS. However, I have deep reservations about providing funds or arms to Syrian rebels we know little about.
"It is very important that American weaponry does not fall into the hands of extremist groups who could use them to do more harm than good and I've yet to see a plan to prevent that from happening. However, I do not believe my concerns with funding for Syrian rebels should keep our government from staying open and conducting its basic functions at levels consistent with the Ryan-Murray budget."
