Issue Position

I'm not sure which is worse--the growing list of VA hospitals choosing bonuses over patient care or a White House and Congress either unable or unwilling to repair what's obviously broken. These recent revelations are not merely troubling, they're disgraceful.

Like many of you I know, first-hand, the burdens of war, of separation, of difficulty and disorientation upon returning home. That's the time for our government to get behind us, to open doors to our future and help us deal productively with our recent past.

For the first time in our history, we see a government eager to forget, to ignore, to punish those who keep them free--including their families, who patiently sacrifice on behalf of all of us.

I can promise you my tireless efforts to push back against those who would refuse veterans -- of all times and all wars -- the position of honor they fought to earn and deserve.
