Cassidy Supports Securing Borders, Stopping Executive Amnesty

Date: Aug. 1, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-LA) took steps to secure our borders and stop the increasing number of illegal immigrants, specifically unaccompanied alien children (UAC), from illegally entering the United States. He also supported stopping President Obama from continuing to provide executive amnesty.

Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

More than 90,000 illegal aliens have flooded the U.S.-Mexican border. President Obama is granting executive amnesty. The Senate left town doing nothing. Tonight, the House of Representatives voted to secure the border with National Guard and border patrol police, end President Obama's executive amnesty and close loopholes that allow the President to ignore the intent of the law. Senator Reid should call the Senate back into session. This is too big a problem for the Senate to ignore.
