The state and federal legislatures are forcing, through mandate of the law, schools, counties, boroughs and townships to perform tasks, provide services or purchase products that they don't need or cannot afford. When the local government bodies try to avoid the mandates they are threatened with funding for essential services being cut.
This puts school board members, council members and township supervisors in the predicament of either raising taxes or cutting the services we need.
Cris Dush will fight to have an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution that prohibits the State Government from forcing local government bodies to purchase services and equipment or hire personnel to perform tasks that are not funded in total by the Commonwealth or the Federal Government at the risk of funding for other purposes.
