Issue Position

We are stewards of this planet. It is our responsibility to replenish and conserve the natural resources we are fortunate enough to access. Therefore, I believe in extending the bottle bill to water and juice containers, to remove some portion of plastic that threatens to pollute our land and waters. I have read that 80 percent of returnable bottles and cans are, in fact, returned, while only one-third of bottles that are not returnable are NOT recycled. That tells me something. As a member of the House Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change I will continued to work to address this issue and others that affect pollution and climate change.
