Issue Position

Educational opportunity and excellence is critical for our youth and future of Montana. I support a strong public school system that is adequately funded, yet requires accountability for all students' progress. I also support school choice which allows parents and families the choice for a child's education, but not at the detriment of the Public Education system. I will support a tax credit system which helps families with school choice, yet does not defund Public Education or place additional burden upon the taxpayers. The bottom line is that I will support all legislation that balances the growth potential of all students, the funding of Public Education and respects the taxpayer. I also authored, sponsored and passed landmark legislation that will protect the education of military family's children who move in or out of Montana based upon the selfless service of their family members.
