My philosophy on taxes is really quite simple: money is better off in the pockets of the people who earned it, rather than in the coffers of bureaucrats. Additionally, tax rates are a key component to the State business tax climate, which is a key factor in how attractive a state is to business. According to a report done by the Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan think tank, in 2010 Ohio was ranked 47th in the nation in The State Business Tax Climate Index. In 2012 Ohio had climbed up 8 spots and now ranks 39th. While there is still a ways to go, together we are moving Ohio in the right direction.
