Issues: Fiscally Conservative Government Budget and Spending

As a staunch fiscal conservative, I believe government should operate efficiently and within its means. Thankfully, Ohio is required by our Constitution to have a balanced budget. When I took office in 2010 Ohio was facing an $8 billion budget gap. We had a choice to raise taxes OR reduce government spending, coupled with reforms, to live within our means and balance the budget. I am proud to say that we chose the latter, we balanced Ohio's budget without raising taxes and while there is still a long way to go, Ohio is on its way back to prosperity.
