Issue Position

Public officials should be held to the highest standards of ethics, given the trust constituents place in them. The recent revelations about several Philadelphia elected officials' conduct are extremely troubling/disturbing.

I want to see an end to private financing of political campaigns, and I support full public financing. Prior to such a change, I support restrictions on donations, gifts and full disclosure. The appearance of impropriety can be as bad as the actual conduct.

I see my role as an advocate for my community. I have enjoyed the respect and trust of employees, colleagues, and constituents over time. They have come to know I will operate with their best interests in mind, and I will be honest and straightforward in all dealings.
