Voted to repeal ObamaCare, including the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB)

-Rep. Rokita cosponsored and championed H.R. 432, the Medicare Decisions Accountability Act, to repeal the IPAB, a board of 15 unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats appointed by the president with the sole task of cutting Medicare.

-This bill was folded into a larger package under H.R. 5, the Protecting Access to Healthcare Act, which included crucial medical malpractice reforms, including a cap on noneconomic damages.

-The House has voted more than 30 times to repeal all or parts of ObamaCare, all of which have received the support of Rep. Rokita.

Fought for important reforms to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), including language to combat drug shortages

-This legislation will speed up access to potentially life-saving medical treatments.

-The bill also included a provision to combat drug shortages by modifying the reporting requirements for drug makers and requiring the FDA to inform the public of expected shortages.

Proposed serious plans to reform our entitlement programs (Medicare & Medicaid) and tackle our $16 trillion national debt

-As a member of the House Budget Committee, Rep. Rokita worked closely with Chairman Paul Ryan on the 2012 and 2013 Path to Prosperity budgets.

-These budgets included proposals to reform Medicare by implementing a premium assistance model whereby consumers would have the choice between private health care plans or the traditional fee-for-service plan.

-Rep. Rokita also introduced H.R. 4160, the State Health Flexibility Act, which would block grant Medicaid to the states, giving them the power and flexibility to tailor their programs to their unique needs.

-Elements of this bill were included in the 2013 budget, estimated to save the federal government $120 billion.
