Most functions performed by the federal government would likely be better done at the state or local level. From education to healthcare to welfare to land management and many other areas, the federal government, being far from individual citizens, regulates inefficiently, impersonally and often in a harmful and reckless way. Keep government functions and authority as close to the people as possible.
