Attracting more doctors and dentists to the district is also a job creation plan because every doctor who sets up practice creates an average of 6 additional jobs.

In addition, the increasing population of seniors provides a new market for all kinds of services, and we need to encourage the growth of new businesses that will meet those needs. I support public/private partnerships to help small businesses get started and grow.

Finally, Sussex County is home to a burgeoning "farm to table" movement that links local farmers to cutting edge restaurant owners, particularly in the coastal communities. We need to support our small farmers who are engaged in sustainable agriculture, as well as the job-creating restauranteurs who are central to the economy in general and the tourist industry in particular.
