Issue Position: Adopting a Comprehensive Energy Policy

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014
Issues: Energy

Energy is an issue that impacts each and every Ohioan as well as America's national security. It is essential for our state to develop a comprehensive, sustainable energy policy that employs all of Ohio's diverse energy resources and serves as a mechanism to create new jobs for our citizens. Mike Dovilla possesses substantial experience on energy policy, proudly assisting on the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee during his graduate studies. More recently, he has consulted for nonprofit organizations on ways to expand domestic energy resources to keep costs down for Ohio residents and businesses, while advancing our nation's energy independence.

In the Ohio House, Mike Dovilla has supported energy policies in House Bill 133 and Senate Bill 315 that expand our use of domestic resources and put safeguards in place to protect Ohioans and our natural resources to ensure the state's energy extraction is done in a safe and responsible manner. Dovilla also sponsored House Resolution 384, a measure urging federal officials to put aside partisan politics and approve the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline, a project that would create thousands of American jobs in the building and construction trades while increasing oil supplies from Canada, our northern neighbor and close ally, thus reducing gasoline prices at the pump for Ohioans.
