Issue Position: Taxes & Spending

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

As a small business owner, I know what it's like to balance a checkbook. Wisconsin families have to account for rising costs by tightening their belts. I believe state government should do the same, and balance the budget by reducing spending, not raising taxes.

After years of deficits and debt, Wisconsin has a surplus. This surplus is a result of Republican policies that are focused on the continued prosperity of our state and its fiscal welfare. The state will be collecting close to one billion dollars more in revenue than expected. That surplus will go back to the taxpayers of the great state of Wisconsin. Putting money back in YOUR pocket is a sure way to continue the growth of the private sector in Wisconsin. The days of spending more money than we collect are over and I am committed to helping Governor Walker and the rest of the legislature in continuing to move Wisconsin FORWARD!
