Issues: Guns

I literally grew up with a gun in my hands. On my sixth birthday, I got my very first one: a Daisy BB gun. Guns marked the rights of passage of my childhood. I got an air pistol one year, a 20-gauge shotgun another and a beautiful 12-gauge shotgun on my 16th birthday. Some of my fondest memories of childhood come from the times I spent with my father at the gun range or out at my grandmother's farmhouse, where we shot trap.

As an American, I am an unwavering defender of our fundamental right to bare arms. Our Constitutional Rights are not given to us by a government. They are divine rights that were recognized and called out by the Framers of our Constitution. The right to defend ourselves, our families and our property is among our natural, human rights and I will oppose any attempt by our state or federal government to block or infringe upon it.
