Gov. Brownback vetoed funding for Kansas Arts Commission in 2012 budget

Kansas Arts Commission abolished by executive order of the governor
Matching grants from NEA no longer possible
Kansas Arts Foundation Board was formed, with Linda Weis as chair
Donations have been made to that fund, but we do not have access to any information regarding their efforts.
The Creative Arts Industries Commission was formed in 2013 budget

Staffed and funded in the Department of Commerce, with Peter Jasso as director.
Programs offered available in FY 2013
Mr. Jasso will be conducting strategic planning process in order to get federal funds
Arts Agencies in Kansas waiting

Arts Agencies hoping to regain support for training, hiring, programming, and facility maintenance.
