From public schools to post-secondary education tech schools and colleges we will have an awesome workforce that will attract businesses into the district. From the skilled and technical laborers we will increase the scope and size of the counties and be able to attract many diversified industries into District 74. Currently, the Cumberland City Gypsum wallboard plant that is located in the Stewart-Houston Industrial Park is hiring 30 plus employees from all three counties in District 74 to begin a fourth shift on June 8th. With the increased production we will see increased shipping of wallboard product. Currently shipping 100 to 120 trucks a day traveling highway 149 going north and south is creating traffic congestion. The plant also uses the rail system running through Clarksville to ship 10 rail cars a day. This brings more jobs to the district as well as challenges. To ease road traffic concerns, the bridge on highway 374 must be completed across the Cumberland River to connect to highway 149. All roads and bridges must be maintained to handle the present and future traffic and workload.
Humphreys, Houston, and Montgomery counties all have well equipped industrial parks that can handle just about any industry. I believe that I have the knowledge and sales experience to attract new industries' into our district for new and improved job creation for our citizens and veterans that will not only benefits District 74 but also all the surrounding districts.
