The federal Department of Education must end all educational mandates and requirements. Parents and local school boards - with assistance from the state board of education - are best-suited to decide what is best for children.

As a former teacher, it astounds me that so many people accept the intrusion of Washington bureaucrats into the classroom. In 2010, I spoke out against "Race to the Top" for one simple reason: federal money comes with strings attached. Now a one size fits all educational curriculum is being pushed by Washington and the liberal bias is astounding. We must take back control of our schools.
