Issue Position

Thomas Jefferson said, "On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed"

Our nation was designed to operate under a federal government with limited powers which are clearly defined in our Constitution. We must return to a strict adherence to the original intent of the Constitution, not squeeze out of each clause whatever meaning best benefits the powerbrokers in Washington.
