Issue Position: Safe Neighborhoods. Fair Justice System.

Issue Position

We should all feel safe in our neighborhoods & confident our justice system gives everyone a fair chance. I will fight to:

*Reinvest in Our Communities: Put cost savings directly back into neighborhoods most directly affected by crime by addressing blight, strengthening youth programs, and other community revitalization efforts.

*Support Law Enforcement: Expand local law enforcement funding to get more officers on the street and build respectful public safety partnerships in our neighborhoods.

*Invest in Prisoner Reentry Programs: Provide more resources for formerly incarcerated individuals to become productive members of society.

*Balance Justice: Expand community court & restorative justice programs and provide adequate funding for Michigan's public defense system.

*Collaborate for Success: Bring together safety representative from neighborhood groups in the district to share best practices and recommendations for change.
