Enhancing the Quality of Educational Opportunities for our Students
For years the quality of education in Prince George's County public schools, has been lagging behind the reset of the state our test scores are low, the dropout rate is high and every junior high school has failed to meet basic bench marks for achievement.
Accordingly many parents have left the public school system and opted for private schools. I believe that parents who choose to stay with the public school during these difficult times should have options at their disposal to ensure that their children and receiving a top notch education and parents who choose to educate their children at home or in private school should receive tax benefits for paying what I call the double tax.
As your advocate for education I will fight against the educational disparities that have plagued our county. I will fight for greater funding opportunities for public, private, and home schools. Finally, I will led an initiative to add 1,000 new teachers to Prince George's County class rooms so we can reduce the overall class size and improve the overall quality of education for all Prince George's County students.
