Cassidy Applauds Signing of WRRDA into Law

Press Release

Date: June 10, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) applauded the signing of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) into law. This authorizes many critical infrastructure and hurricane protection projects for Louisiana, including Morganza to the Gulf. This law incorporates many reforms Dr. Cassidy spearheaded in the House that streamline and accelerate flood protection projects, including the Morganza to the Gulf project.

Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"Thousands of Louisiana families and businesses will directly benefit from the transportation and infrastructure projects that were signed into law today. Getting Morganza to the Gulf authorized and built is critical to protecting families from future storm surge. We must continue to strengthen Louisiana's coastal restoration and hurricane protection projects. Our economy and our jobs depend on it. I am proud to have worked with the entire delegation, especially Senate EPW Ranking Member David Vitter, in helping push this long-awaited bill into law."
