San Diego is a proud military town.

San Diego's local economy depends in large part on a strong federal investment in the military bases and defense programs in our region.

More importantly, San Diego is home to thousands of veterans who have served their country with honor.

Improve Administration of Veterans Benefits

Carl DeMaio is outraged by the lengthy backlog of veterans benefits claims and believes the VA must do a better job to properly serve our veterans. Carl DeMaio built two businesses helping organizations and government programs streamline their processes, speed up work flow, and improve service outcomes. He'll bring that same experience to tackle the backlog of VA benefit claims -- to get veterans their benefits in a timely manner.

Support Local Veterans Service Organizations
Continuing his strong commitment demonstrated on the City Council, Carl DeMaio will continue to support and fight for our local veterans service organizations -- from job training and job placement programs to social services serving our homeless veterans and those needing access to mental health services.

Make the Case for San Diego's Military Bases

Carl DeMaio supports a strong national defense, and believes San Diego offers the Department of Defense the most cost-effective investments in securing our nation. DeMaio will fight to continue federal investment in our local military bases and defense programs. As the Department of Defense considers another round of base closures, DeMaio will form a local coalition to make sure San Diego's voice is heard loud and clear in Washington, DC.
