Cassidy Supports Farm Bill

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. voted for the Farm Bill. The legislation was supported by Louisiana Agricultural Commissioner Mike Strain, the Louisiana Farm Bureau and the American Sugar Cane League, and saves taxpayers at least 23 billion dollars in federal spending. The legislation also includes a pilot program which will allow states to require healthy adults to work for federal benefits. Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"The Farm Bill saves taxpayers money, allows states to require able-bodied adults to work for benefits and is a long-coming victory for farmers throughout Louisiana. It represents a commitment to our farmers that America supports them."
