Issues: Taxes Government Budget and Spending
The Attorney General plays a lead role in protecting taxpayers through investigating waste, fraud, and abuse, by reviewing and approving local bond packages, and through reviewing large state contracts. I have a record of scrutinizing state budgets, creating transparency of state and local funds, and opposing tax increases. I'm honored to have earned the endorsement of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility.
As Attorney General, I will review contracts and bond proposals to ensure our tax money is spent wisely. In reviewing waste, fraud, and abuse, I will continue General Abbott's efforts to aggressively investigate and prosecute Medicaid fraud to ensure our taxpayers' money is not wasted.
