Merkley Statement on Yellen Confirmation Hearing

Oregon's Senator Jeff Merkley issued the following statement after Janet Yellen's confirmation hearing for Chair of the Federal Reserve.

"Janet Yellen did a tremendous job today showcasing not only her expertise and qualifications, but also her calm, measured approach to the job. The next Federal Reserve Chair will face many challenges: restoring the integrity of our regulatory system; implementing a strong loophole-free Volcker Rule firewall; reining in the massive bets on commodities by major financial institutions; as well as fulfilling the dual mandate of keeping unemployment and inflation low. I have no doubt that Janet Yellen is the best person for the job."
