Issues: Oil and Gas Taxes
U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after Senate Democrats released tax reform proposals that target oil and gas producers.
"Our nation is in serious need of comprehensive tax reform. Instead, what we're seeing from Senate Democrats is a plan that targets oil and gas producers -- the very sectors our nation relies on for economic growth.
"Rather than using the tax code to punish producers and employers that already pay billions in taxes, we should focus on solutions that will help grow jobs and increase domestic energy production."
