Joyce Refuses Special Treatment by Entering Office Into Exchanges

Press Release

Date: Nov. 4, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) announced that his office will enter into the health care law exchanges, despite having an option to stay on their current Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program. Joyce stated:

"This decision came down to the issue of fairness. If thousands of Ohioans will be kicked off their current plan and pushed into the exchanges, then my office shouldn't receive any special treatment. I continue to have serious concerns about the health care law forcing employers to drop coverage as well as increased health costs for middle class Ohioans, and will continue to work in a bipartisan manner for solutions."

Each Congressional office was given the choice to either keep employees on their current FEHB Program or enter into the health care law exchanges. Congressman Joyce's office will enter into the DC exchanges effective immediately.
