E-Newsletter: We Must Reopen the Government

Statement

Friends:

I've spoken with many of you over the past few days regarding the government shutdown and I wanted to take a moment to let everyone in Northeast Ohio know my position on the shutdown, as well as share a frequently asked questions section on my website.

While I agree that there are problems associated with health care law, and hope we can replace it with something better, it's not worth shutting the government down over something the Senate refuses to take up, and the President will certainly veto.

I continue to believe a normal budget process, like every Ohio family has to do, is the answer so we can stop operating from crisis to crisis. I'm willing to work with both sides to make that happen.
