One day after Affordable Care Act health insurance exchanges opened up, Rep. Betty McCollum wants Obamacare opponents to know the sky is not falling.
So she brought Chicken Little to the House floor Wednesday to help make her case.
"Did the sky fall? Did insurance markets crash?" she said. "No, of course not. Instead, health care marketplaces across the nation went live. Millions of Americans logged on to learn about affordable health plans. They gathered information to make decisions about what plan best meets their healthcare needs. Yes, some glitches needed to be fixed, and we knew that would happen. But yesterday wasn't the end of the world. It was the beginning, it was the first step."
