Walz Statement on Student Loan Deal

Today, Representative Tim Walz released the following statement after voting in favor of the student loan compromise.

"Ensuring a college degree is affordable, accessible, and attainable is something both parties should be able to agree on. More and more Minnesota companies are in dire need of highly skilled workers to fill good paying jobs; jobs that allow you to provide for your family, have pride in your work, and achieve the middle class American Dream. And creating this highly-skilled workforce starts with access to an affordable higher education--whether that be at a community college or at a four year university.

"While this is not the bill I would have written, it is currently the best deal for students and families that can pass both chambers and be signed into law, which is why I supported it today. I will continue fighting to rekindle the American Dream for hardworking Americans and tear down the barriers to higher education."
