Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a holiday that marks the end of Ramadan:

"A happy and blessed Eid to all. The celebration of the breaking of the fast signals the closing of Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims of fasting from sunrise to sunset.

"All around the world today, Muslims will be celebrating peace and unity after the month of Ramadan. It is a time for all of us to reflect on the role we play in making the world a better place. My thoughts and prayers this Eid will be with those struggling for freedom and human rights all over the world. Peace and blessings be upon them and all of you. Eid Mubarak."
