U.S. Congressman Sean Duffy (WI-07) offered the following comments today after questioning Treasury Secretary, and former White House Chief of Staff, Jack Lew about his knowledge of the IRS scandal:
"The American people want to know why certain citizens were targeted and when the Administration knew about the misconduct. Instead of going above and beyond to calm the nerves of the American people, and convince us that they are doing everything they can to get to the bottom of this scandal, the President and Sec. Lew continue to dance around the question. I am not convinced that the Secretary's first knowledge of this scandal came from a government report and I was incredibly disappointed that he did not take advantage of today's hearing to clarify the record for the American people."
