Our rural areas and natural resources are critical economic engines for South Jersey. We're leading the fight to conserve our environmental resources, preserve open space and protect local farmland.

Most recently, we passed legislation to preserve farmland throughout Gloucester, Salem and Cumberland counties. That means more than $55 million in funding for our local communities. These benefits will lay the groundwork for a thriving economic base for many years to come.

We worked together to establish an offshore wind renewable energy certificate program and authorize tax credits for qualified wind energy facilities. This legislation is critical to the Port of Paulsboro project -- and will help bring much-needed jobs to our region.

We're promoting local farmers and vendors, making New Jersey a leader in the emerging agricultural tourism industry. We helped pave the way for farm wineries to produce hard cider and allow wineries to sell at farm markets. And we sponsored legislation to allow local wineries to ship directly to New Jersey consumers -- giving our wine industry a boost and increasing consumer choices.

We're looking out for the health and well being of today's families and future generations. Our team sponsored legislation banning the sale of gasoline containing high levels of Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) -- ensuring cleaner, safer water for South Jersey.
