Farming, as well as logging and hunting, is under tremendous pressures from groups that wish to end animal and/or general agriculture. Misinformation is the main weapon used to deceive people and government leaders into believing a picture of agriculture that is not true. Untruths about global warming caused by cows; fertilizers ruining the ground; and farmers, especially "large" ones, not caring about anything but profits are endangering Michigan's second largest industry ($73.1 billion) and largest non-government employment sector. Our state needs representation that understands agriculture and its vital role in both our economy and daily living.
