Issue Position

New Mexico is special because of our unique culture and environment. We must not be complacent in our protections for future generations. I am an ardent supporter of the the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks Wilderness initiative.

I support the reintroduction of the Mexican Grey Wolf into the wilderness area of Southwestern New Mexico and Eastern Arizona. I believe there is an opportunity for local communities in wolf release areas to create business' that capitalize on many individuals who would pay to glimpse a wolf in the wild.

I own shotguns, rifles, and muzzle loaders. I enjoy hunting and fishing on the public lands in New Mexico. I enjoy the peace and solitute of backpacking in the National Forests and camping in our state parks. I want to preserve and protect those opportunities for future generations.

I support responsible economic development. I support well thought out regulations that ensure the safety and preservation of our environment while allowing for economic development that provides job opportunities for New Mexicans.
